La fabricación del Carenado ha finalizado con la integración y la aceptación en fábrica de este subsistema. Como se observa en las imágenes, está provisto de una serie de ventanas a su alrededor que posibilitan el acceso al interior del instrumento para las labores habituales de cambio de elementos (filtros, máscaras, etc.) y otras tareas de mantenimiento.
OSIRIS is the optical Day One instrument of the 10.4m GTC telescope, and so far the only Spanish instrument operating in an 8-10m class telescope.
